Emerging from the cracks of the Memphis alternative and indie scene, Super Brick combines the nuances of the city's prominent history of blues/soul music with their own modern touches creating a palette of unique tonalities that are undoubtedly their own.
Super Brick was born from the collaboration between Memphis blues rock duo "Brother Boulevard" (guitarist Kyle Roberts and drummer Gabriel Brown) and aspiring singer Bethany Fichthorn. Roberts and Brown, best friends and Memphis transplants relocated from Wisconsin to the bluff city in 2017 to pursue a life in the blues circuit to which they found some successes playing across Memphis and northern Mississippi. Growing tired and feeling trapped within their bluesy image, seeking an entry into the alternative scene, the group took a hiatus re-discovering and re-imagining their musical desires, ultimately adding friend and fellow aspiring musician Bethany Fichthorn from Cordova, TN to their arsenal and rebranding themselves as "Super Brick" in 2019 for a fresh approach. The band has since relocated to the Chicagoland area in July of 2021. In January of 2024 Brandon Anderson formerly of the Nova Certainty Project joined the group providing new depth, and intricate rhythm guitar to the group. Their music is a vivid testament to their diverse influences and experiences. Brandons love for emo/punk breaks through Kyle and Gabe's old-school, soulful backdrop. Topped with Bethany's dreamy, colorful and sultry vocals inspired by her deep appreciation of modern alternative music, most notably her favorite bands "Death Cab For Cutie", "Foo Fighters", "The Beths", "The Avett Brothers" and "Dr. Dog". Making for an instantly recognizable sound suitable for any listener. Whether it's jazz, blues, rock, alt or indie, Super Brick does it all with grace and skill bringing you an unmatched experience of heartfelt lows and incendiary highs that'll leave you wishing their show would never end.

Bethany is a born and raised Memphian, and a dual citizen with Canada. She is very proud of these things. Growing up in a city of great music, and incredible music history, Bethany grew up with a love for music, and the desire to sing. Being gifted a toy microphone at age 5, she told everyone that she would be a singer one day. With Super Brick that dream is her reality. Some of Bethany's favorite artists and influencers nowadays are Death Cab for Cutie/Benjamin Gibbard, Foo Fighters, The Beths, The Avett Brothers, and Dr. Dog. Bethany would like to thank all of her greatest influencers, namely her brother Ben, for sharing his music with her, and picking out her first guitar. Other passions include Shakespearian theatre, the kittens she and Kyle have together, her pup Maddie, painting, and sandwiches.
RIP Maddie, I love you forever. From the suburbs of Chicago, and and raised in the small community of Poplar Grove, Brandons first love for music came from Tony Hawks Pro Skater 2 for the Nintendo 64 when he was only 5 years old. Hearing bands like Goldfinger, Millencolin, Lagwagon, and most notably Rage Against the Machine, inspired his love for punk, emo, and metal music as he grew up, eventually leading him to teach himself how to play guitar at 16. Some of his most notable infulences being My Chemical Romance, Smashing Pumpkins, The 1975, Mac Miller, Hot Mulligan, M83, Title Fight, blink 182, and Alkaline Trio.
After playing with a few bands in the Rockford scene, and the resolve of his band The Nova Certainty Project, Brandon Joined Super Brick in 2024 as their rhythm guitarist. Now for a note from Brandon: I am under strict contractual obligation to provide “badass and cool and also sick” rhythm guitar for the band commonly known as “Super Brick.” If there are any lawyers out there please help. |

Gabriel was born in a small town in Wisconsin, grew up in a different small town, and then met Kyle while in high school in yet another small town. He tries to play drums sometimes. Like, he really tries. Now, after a lot of convincing of a lot of family members, Gabe tries to play drums in a big city. Memphis. Look at me now Mom! I get paid to hit things with sticks sometimes! When he is not drumming, Gabe spends arguably too much time drunk and/or playing video games, as is tradition for a 25 year old Wisconsin born. He also enjoys reading, looking at the wall for hours on end in irreverent silence, as if they will one day finally reveal the secret escape from the deafening monotony, and collecting bottle caps. If Gabe was a tree, he would like to be a scotch pine. An oak would also be acceptable. His favorite color is cobalt blue, and he thought Toy Story 2 was okay. Years from now, people will look back on Gabe and say "Oh yeah, I remember that guy! He's the one who thought he could pull off a shitty beard in high school!", and this is something he takes great pride in. So, if you wanna get to know this wonderfully strange man though his drumming, (the true reflection of a man's soul) or if you want to find out if there is any truth to the rumor that he has a tattoo that says "BUTTS" on his bicep, check out our album today! Or tomorrow. Please? We're poor. With all of the love he can spare, Gabriel Boots Brown - xoxo |
A special THANK YOU! To our friend and brother with arms, David Barton of Greely and Animal Sounds. Thank you for joining us in the studio on bass! David has been laying down some sweet beats for everyone with ears for some time now. He was kind enough to join us in studio on "Sun in the Morning", "Hold the Levee", and "I am a Mouse." Thanks again David!
